Music & Movement
Through games and fun activities, students experience the joy of making music and creative movement. We focus on developing motor, social, and listening skills by using our bodies as musical instruments, shakers, and claves to explore rhythms, melodies, and choreographies.
Numbers and Music
Music is the sound of math. Through fun collective games and activities, we explore the relationships between numbers, shapes, and sounds. We make arithmetic equations exciting and accesible all while making music using our bodies and instruments.
2nd-5th
Rhythms and Songs of The Americas
Multicultural and multilingual exploration of the music, instruments, and people from various regions of the Americas including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Ecuador and more! This program is taught through three separate ensembles:
Bucket Drumming Ensemble
Vocal Ensemble
Body Percussion Ensemble
Songwriting
An exploration of the creative and technical process of songwriting. Students will analyze and listen to a variety of songs from various genres such as Hip-Hop, Blues, Rock, Pop and Folk, from various regions, in order to understand and apply techniques in song structure, melodies, harmonies, and rhymes. Students will make a collective song and an individual song that will be recorded at the end of the program.

Music and Migration
Through the lens of social studies we explore the relationship between music, migration, and culture. We focus on the exchange of creative and intelectual ideas driven by social, political, and economic situations through various regions of the Americas from 3,000 B.C. to present day.

Storytelling
Tk-1st
Puppetry
Students will dive into the fun world of storytelling by individually creating puppets and developing a collective storyline. Students will also design and create a set for the show at the end of the program.
Acting & Emotional Expression
Through fun acting games and activities, we explore the variety of human emotions, their power, and a healthy toolkit for recognizing and expressing them.
Create a Comic Book
In this fun and hands-on class, students will explore the art of comic book making and develop skills in drawing, character design, and storytelling.
2nd-5th
Stop-Motion Animation
Students will learn and experience the creative and technical process of stop-motion animation from start to finish. We will create paper puppets with movable parts and develop their persona, work in teams to create a story, shoot the frames using software, and add voice over dialogue as well as music.
Acting Troupe
This dynamic class explores the toolkits of acting through improvisation games and scenes. Students will develop confidence, creativity, and teamwork while exploring their unique voice and body expression.
Create a Comic Book
Students will explore the creative and technical elements of comic book making and further develop their drawing techniques, character design, and storytelling. We will focus on crafting engaging and coherent plots and dialogues, while exploring their unique voices, styles, and creative ideas.
6th-12th
Stop-Motion Animation
Students will learn and experience the creative and technical process of stop-motion animation from start to finish. We will create puppets and sets from various materials with movable parts, work in teams to create a plot and develop characters, shoot the frames using software, and add voice over dialogue as well as music.
Acting Troupe
This dynamic class explores the toolkits of acting through improvisation games and complex scenes. Students will develop confidence, creativity, and teamwork while exploring their unique voice and body expression.
